Thank You!!

Thank you to those who joined us for our 10th and final Bal de Neige. Thank you to those who could not be with us but were there in spirit - we missed you.

Together we raised just shy of $75,000 for our incredible partners, to support their efforts to make our communities better.  Over the nine years of the Bal de Neige, some $735,000 has been distributed to the charities and foundations working in our communities.

What an incredible evening of giving, laughter, good food and dancing with friends old and new. We are overwhelmed again this year by your generous participation in this spirited event and we gratefully accept your support for this year's charity partners Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House and Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children.

We heard from Dr. Ann Bayliss who oversaw Alex's care while at Credit Valley Hospital. She not only provided his medical care, but was also a calming voice and friend to him and to us during a turbulent time.

The Bal de Neige organizing committee and our charitable recipients are most grateful for your participation, your financial gifts and the donations which you have contributed. Mostly, we are grateful for the support and spirit of giving that you have shown to the community - please continue to nurture and grow this spirit in yourselves and others.

As we revel in the success of the event over its 10 year run, we feel the energy of Alex, our son, nephew and friend who, by his example, reminded us to look outward toward those in need.

It has been 10 years since our sweet Alex left this earthly plane. He was 10 years old when he was diagnosed with cancer. His favourite number was 10... this is our 10th Bal de Neige.... 10 symbolizes perfection or completeness. The number 10 is actually the rebirth of number 1. ... It is the number of new beginnings.

And so it is a time of new beginnings for us too.  We continue to live, to hope, to create change, to remember those who are dear to us, and to make the world a better place.

Peace, love and joy to you all!
